Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India remains the most attractive global investment destination. On the final day of his official visit to Japan, Mr Modi addressed the Business Symposium on “Make in India Digital Partnership and Indo-Japan Partnership in Africa.”
He pointed out that India has jumped the 100th rank in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Report. He expressed confidence that the business environment will further improve drastically, as the Centre is working closely with the states and local administrations.
Prime Minister said that India welcomes not only the big corporate houses of Japan to set up their industries but also the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises. He said the youth of India are eager to work in Japanese firms that would be mutually beneficial.
Prime Minister Modi emphasised that the software of India joining hands with the Japanese hardware will be a formidable and winning combination. He pointed out to the fast-paced development of world-class infrastructure in India to create a better ambience.
He listed out Artificial Intelligence, Internet-of-Things, 3D Printing and Robotics as the areas of possible cooperation in digital technology. He also said Sagarmala, Ports and Airports, Smart Cities, more Metro Rail and Hi-Speed Corridor projects, Inland Waterways and Green Energy as the other areas of investment opportunities.
Mr Narendra Modi said India and Japan, besides boosting bilateral ties, also aim at reach out to the Indo-Pacific, South Asia and Africa for overall development.
The Prime Ministers of India and Japan will hold the 13th bilateral annual summit in Tokyo later this afternoon.
