Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said woman power is marching towards the creation of a new India. In a message on International Women’s Day, Mr Modi said, transforming the lives of women and harnessing Nari Shakti will create a New India.

He said the country is moving from women development to women-led development. Saluting the women power, Mr Modi said, the country is very proud of the achievements of women’s power. He said, through their exemplary deeds, several women have left an indelible mark in the history of humankind and continue to inspire generations. Prime Minister urged people to write about some women who inspire them.

Mr Modi said, he is deeply inspired by Kunwar Bai, who died earlier this year at the age of 106. He said, hailing from Chhattisgarh, she sold her goats in order to build toilets and her contribution towards a Swachh Bharat can never be forgotten.

Mr Modi said, Kunwar Bai lives on in the hearts and minds of all those who are passionate towards fulfilling Bapu’s dream of a clean India. Prime Minister said he will always cherish the time when he had the opportunity to seek Kunwar Bai’s blessings during his visits to Chhattisgarh.
