On the occasion of Civil Services Day today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented awards to civil servants from across the country for their commendable work in the public service.
The awards are being conferred on Civil Servants from Districts, Central and State organisations for effective implementation of Governement Programmes and Innovation.
The awards have been instituted with a view to acknowledge, recognize and reward the talent for extraordinary and innovative work done for the welfare of common citizen.
Prime minister Narendra Modi said Civil Servants should adopt new ways of doing work as per the changing times. Mr. Modi said with changing times, the Government has to become from regulator to an enabling entity.
He said changing trends in the last 15-20 years have altered the dynamics as competition is playing a big role in bringing a qualitative change. People are now seeing alternatives in the private sector.
On the occasion MoS, PMO, Dr. Jitender said, the civil services day event has undergone massive change since last year. He further added now it is a forum where positive brain stroming takes place.
