
US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nikki Haley called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi last evening. Both sides discussed ways to enhance co-operation in various areas, including on counter-terrorism, and in multilateral fora.
They expressed confidence that the strong bilateral partnership will continue to be an important factor for global peace and prosperity.
During the meeting, Mr Modi appreciated US President Donald Trump’s South Asia and Indo-Pacific strategies and commended his initiative for denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. Ms Haley noted the deepening of relations between India and the US particularly in strategic and defence sectors.
