Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated to the nation Railway electrification of 294- km-long Andal- Sainthia-Pakur-Malda and Khana- Sainthia Sections in West Bengal.

Electrification of this section will ease transportation of coal and stone chips to North and North East India in a seamless manner. He also inaugurated the 20 km long Hijli- Narayangarh third line.

Earlier in the day, while speaking at a public rally in Thakurnagar in West Bengal Prime Minister made a blistering attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee accusing her of orchestrating violence against BJP workers in the state.

He made a strong pitch for the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill that seeks to accord Indian citizenship to non-Muslim minorities that fled Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh due to persecution.

He said government’s budget is a historic step for welfare of farmers and working class and blamed the opposition for making false claims over farm loan waiver.

He said the politics of waiving farmer loans is actually an effort to throw dust in the eyes of farmers. Modi said more than 12 crore families of small farmers, 30-40 crore workers and 3 crore middle-class families will directly benefit from the various schemes announced in the budget.

Before the rally at Thakurnagar, Prime Minister visited Matua Thakurbari and the leader of the community Baro Ma, who is the widow of the founder Matua Mahasangh.
