PM congratulates Japanese PM on his victory in parliamentary polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on his victory in the parliamentary elections. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he is looking forward to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Mr Abe got a resounding victory in the snap polls held yesterday, with his LDP-led coalition winning two-thirds majority in the lower house of Parliament. Modi and Abe share a great relationship and have met several times over the last three years.
