Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs to use digital technology to reach out to the masses, saying social media and mobile telephony have changed the interface of communication.
In a meeting with party MPs from six states, Mr. Modi said, the Parliamentarians and representatives need to have presence on twitter, facebook and other social media platforms to publicize the government’s developmental initiatives. Sources said, during the meeting, Mr. Modi said digital platforms will play greater role in 2019 Lok Sabha polls as they are transparent, live and are equipped with feedback system. He said, the MPs should be ready to adopt this change to connect to the people.
Prime Minister also talked about Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana and MGNREGA and asked the MPs to propagate them. He also asked them to make people aware about the cultural and social strength of different states.
