
BJP President Amit Shah has said that petrol and diesel prices could soon come down as government is working on a formula to ease fuel prices at the earliest. Mr Shah said, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is set to meet top officials of oil companies and a formula to bring down fuel prices could be discussed.
Talking to media persons in New Delhi yesterday evening, he blamed market forces behind rising fuel prices. Mr Shah said, retail price of fuel is linked with the international market and the recent rise in petrol diesel is largely because the changing geopolitical situation.
Indian Oil Corporation Chairman Sanjeev Singh said the international rise in crude oil prices following fresh US sanctions on Iran is responsible for rise in domestic fuel prices.
