Terming the proposed grand alliance of opposition parties as a failed experiment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that these parties are coming together as they desire to form a helpless government to promote nepotism and corruption.
He further elaborated that BJP, on the other hand, wants a strong dispensation for all-round development of the country.
“The people should decide whether they want a strong government or a weak one formed by opposition alliance out of desperation,” Modi said.
The PM was addressing concluding session of BJP National Convention at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi today.
Lashing out at the Congress for its years of neglect and ignorance towards the country’s long-term progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Prior to 2014, there were two ways of getting a bank loan in our country. One was the ‘Common Process’ to get loans, the other was a ‘Congress Process’ of getting a loan. That is how the system worked before 2014. We have changed all of that.”
Highlighting series of historic and courageous decisions taken by his BJP government, PM Modi said the recent decision to give 10% reservation to poor from the general category shows the party’s commitment towards ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’
He further added, “From women to workers and from youth to farmers, this government has taken brave and bold decisions to spur the progress of every group in the society.”
Prime Minister Modi further described the tenure of current BJP-led government at the centre as historic and said that this government has shown everyone that only the BJP can take the India of 21st century to newer heights.
He added that another historic achievement of his government was that a majority government at the centre did not have a single taint of corruption or irregularities in its governance, a stark contrast from the previous decade-old corrupt rule of the Congress party.
He said, Congress-led opposition parties are forming alliances just to oust BJP out of power in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
He expressed pride that for the first time in nation’s history, a government has not had a single charge of corruption against it. He said the previous UPA government had pushed the nation into dark and India lost 10 important years in scams and corruption charges.
He accused Congress leadership of not having faith in law and institutions. Mr Modi alleged that Congress is trying to obstruct the Ayodhya case in Supreme Court by sending its lawyer.
The Prime Minister said ten-per cent reservation in education and government jobs for the youth from economically weaker sections will enhance the confidence of ‘New India’.
He asserted that the new arrangement will not encroach upon existing quota for other sections of the society. He reiterated that NDA government is working day and night to double farmers’ income by 2022.
