Union Minister for parliamentary Affairs and senior member of the Union Cabinet Ananth Kumar passed away in Bengaluru today due to complications following Cancer. He was in ICU and on ventilator since last few days.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, Ananth Kumar will always be remembered for his works as parliamentarian and a political leader. He said, the demise of Ananth Kumar is a great loss to the country, Karnataka, to the Government and the party.
Mr Jaitley said, he was a leader of very high standing within the BJP and it was under his leadership that the party got its first foothold established in southern parts of India.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, Ananth Kumar was like her younger brother and his death is a personal loss for her.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, Ananth Kumar served BJP all along and Bengaluru was always in his head and heart.
