Max Hospital license cancelled for falsely declaring a newborn dead

Delhi government has cancelled the license of Shalimar Bagh’s Max Hospital after it was found guilty of the recent medical negligence.

On 30th of last month, the Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh had declared dead the premature twins and handed over to their parents in a polythene bag.

But when the family was taking the babies for their last rites, one of them, a boy, was found breathing.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, the negligence in the newborn death case is unacceptable.

He said, the government constituted enquiry panel submitted its report in which it was found lapses on part of the hospital in dealing with newborns.

Mr Jain also said, it was not for the first time but in past also irregularities have been found in the same hospital.
