Jaiprakash Associates Limited deposits Rs 150 crore in Supreme Court Registry

Realty firm Jaiprakash Associate Limited has deposited 150 crore rupees in the Supreme Court Registry following a direction to protect the interests of hassled home buyers.

The firm also moved an application yesterday before a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra seeking extension of time to deposit remaining 125 crore rupees within a month, which expires by the end of this month. The matter is listed for hearing today before the apex court bench.

The court on last month had accepted a demand draft of 275 crore rupees submitted by the real estate firm and directed it to pay another two tranches of 150 crore 14th December and 125 crore rupees by end of this month.
