Union Minister of Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan said that the issue regarding a ban on Cow slaughters has a lot of misconceptions.
He was speaking to media in Agartala yesterday evening during his visit to Tripura to highlight NDA government’s three years achievements. He said that the act and the rules have been framed under the directions of the Supreme Court of India. He further said that these rules have been framed to prevent cruelty towards animals.
He added that there is nothing to do with any sort of slaughtering business and it will not affect the eating habits of anyone so that there should not be any confusion in this regard.
The minister also said that even while the confusion was being spread, the govt. had issued a clarification and put in public domain after getting various suggestions. He added that the government is open for any further suggestions.
On climate change issue, he lauded the efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing leadership in Paris Summit and said that our government is committed to combat the climate change havoc.
