India has strongly deplored the heinous and reprehensible terrorist attack in Kabul today. It also expressed its readiness to render any assistance to Afghanistan and all possible support to bring perpetrators of the attack to justice.
Ministry of External Affairs in a press statement said, India shares the grief of all peace-loving Afghans and conveys its sincerest condolences to Afghanistan Government and the families of victims of the mindless violence and wish speedy recovery to those injured. It said, the continuing violence even during the holy and pious month of Ramazan reflects the diabolical nature of the perpetrators and its supporters. It also said that all staff members of the Embassy of India are safe in the explosion that took place in the close vicinity of the Embassy premises.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the blast. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, forces supporting terror need to be defeated. A powerful blast today rocked Kabul’s high-security diplomatic area where the Indian embassy is located. Afghanistan’s Police and health officials confirmed that at least 80 people were killed and more than 350 wounded in the attack.
