India sends note-verbale to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pak on harassment of officials of High Commission in Islamabad

India sent a note-verbale to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on continuing harassment and intimidation of officials and staff members of the High Commission in Islamabad.

Sources said, India yesterday asked Pakistan to immediately investigate all the incidents and direct the relevant authorities to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

The sources said, the results of the investigations may kindly be shared with the Indian High Commission.

They said, incidents of harassment, intimidation and threats to physical security of diplomats and officials are in violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, and a threat to the security and safety for the personnel of the Indian High Commission.

In the note verbale, there was a mention of three incidents which took place yesterday.The website of the High Commission of India continues to be intermittently blocked.

This is causing inconvenience and has affected normal functioning of the Mission.
