Govt to open more AYUSH Universities, colleges to promote integrated healthcare system

The government will open more AYUSH Universities and colleges across the country in coming years to promote integrated healthcare system.

Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik said, his ministry has approved 67 units of public health outreach activities under National AYUSH Mission (NAM) to Kerala.

Under the central sponsored scheme, there is a provision of financial assistance for setting up of up to 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in a state.

However, Kerala has not availed the provisions, he added.

Mr. Naik informed, the Government will also implement a scheme to promote Ayurvedic plants and herbs.
