Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said, punctuality, cleanliness and catering are the focus of the government.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Monday, Mr Goyal said, in the last seven to eight days he personally reviewed the performance of the railways on the punctuality issue.
Mr Goyal said, efforts to improve punctuality will be made without compromising safety. He said, any work related to safety will be given highest priority.
He said, number of train accidents have reduced to 73 in the last year. The Minister added that, the safety of the train is the topmost priority of the government.
Mr Goyal said, the target of replacing bio-toilets with vacuum bio-toilets in trains will be achieved 100 percent by March next year.
He said, Railways will work towards passenger engagement, creating awareness among the passengers, and informing in advance.
He said wherever a train journey is delayed during meal time,his Ministry will ensure to provide a meal and drinking water for passengers.
