
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will address the student of Delhi University and Visit Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in the national capital today.
Later, he will address a business meet. Mr Steinmeier visited Buddhist pilgrimage site Sarnath and participated in the Ganga ‘Aarti’ and interacted with students and teachers of the BHU in Varanasi yesterday after his arrival in New Delhi on a five-day visit to India.
The German President will hold meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also call on the visiting dignitary. He is also scheduled to visit Chennai during his stay.
As per information received, India’s relationship with Germany is amongst the foremost relations, bilaterally and in global context. Germany is India’s largest trading partner in Europe and the 6th largest trading partner in the world.
