
In Jammu and Kashmir, four CRPF and as many policemen were injured after unidentified terrorists attacked a joint patrolling party of police and CRPF in Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district this afternoon.
Security officials averred that terrorists hurled a grenade towards a joint deployment of police and CRPF in Tral town.
The grenade exploded inflicting injuries to eight security personnel including 4 CRPF jawans. The injured personnel were shifted to hospital and are reported to be stable as of now.
Earlier, four terrorists were killed and a policeman was martyred in an encounter in Srigufwara area of Anantnag district this morning. A civilian was also killed in the incident.
Security sources said, a cordon and search operation was launched in the area after receiving specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists there.
During the operation, a gunfight broke out after terrorists hiding in a house fired upon the forces. The owner of the house was also killed in the crossfire.
