Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that effective communication is government priority and it wants to engage citizens in the programmes of nation building.
He said, the involvement of people in government programme is the new way of communication. Delivering the valedictory address at a Conference on Communicating India organised by Vivekanand International Foundation in New Delhi today, Mr Naidu said, bulk of the younger generation wants to become the part of the development process. He said, social media is increasingly becoming the part of next generation of the country and it will enable them to connect in effective manner.
The Minister said, Vivekananda was the first man to communicate to the globe about the heritage and culture of the country and greatness of India. Referring to social media platform of Ministries of External Affairs and Railways, Mr Naidu said the two Ministries are using the new media in very effective manner.
While External Affairs Ministry responds to queries of every citizen through social media, the Railway Ministry is addressing the problems of the passengers.
