In Madhya Pradesh, the full bench of election commission’s meeting with District Administrative officials for reviewing poll preparedness is underway at Bhopal. Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat and Election Commissioners Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa have also launched Sugamya Portal App to facilitate Persons with Disabilities and released CDs & SVEEP activities book during the meeting today.
Election Commission has expressed satisfaction over election preparations in the state. The Commission has also held meetings with various stakeholders including representatives of political parties.Voting will be held in Madhya Pradesh on 28 November and the votes will be counted on 11December.
The last date of withdrawal of nominations in Madhya Pradesh is today. The names may be withdrawn till 3 pm on Wednesday. Following the withdrawal, the returning officer will release the final list of candidates.
On the last day of withdrawal, both the major parties and senior leaders are trying to calm down rebel leaders. More than fifty rebel leaders remain the problem of both the Congress and the BJP.
Overall 4 thousand 157 nomination papers were submitted in the state and 574 nominations have been cancelled during scrutiny. The highest number of nominations 436 has been filled from the Congress whereas 390 nominations have been filed from the BJP.
