The Delhi Police has served summons to AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran to appear for inquiry in a case of alleged bribery to Election Commission officials for retrieving the party’s ‘two leaves’ symbol.

Two police officials, led by Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Sehrawat, reached Dinakaran’s Chennai residence around mid-night and served the summons. They have instructed him to appear for inquiry in the case whenever required.

Dinakaran was the party candidate for the RK Nagar bye-election, which was countermanded by the Election Commission on charges of large scale distribution of cash for votes. Dinakaran stepped aside from the party following a rebellion against him.
