Bhandari said at an event here organised by industry chambers CII, Ficci and Assocham, that achievements made by India in economic, social, scientific and other fields were remarkable and Nepal is keen to benefit from India’s success.

She said, for Nepal, India remains the largest trading partner, adding that the two countries are closely engaged in Saarc, BIMSTEC and BBIN and these regional and sub-regional platforms could be made more effective in delivering results.

Meanwhile, India today cautioned Nepal not to depend upon nations that provide assistance on their own terms and do not encourage capacity building. Addressing a conference along with Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said India’s model of aid is different as it does not make anyone dependent.
