Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said, the Centre is examining issues raised by states and some organisations on the recent ban imposed by it on sale and purchase of cattle at animal markets for slaughter.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Naidu said, the ban was notified in the backdrop of some observations of the Supreme Court and a parliamentary committee on preventing cruelty to animals and breaking nexus in animal markets, including for smuggling.

The Minister said, some issues have been raised and they are being examined by the government.
