The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed all Class 10 and 12 examinations scheduled to be held in Punjab today.
In a statement, CBSE said, the decision to postpone the examinations has been taken at the request of the state government in view of a bandh call given by some organisations.
The new date of the exams will be announced soon.
The board said, exams in the rest of the country, including the Union Territory of Chandigarh, will be held as per schedule.
Referring to the letter of request, CBSE also said, the Punjab government has decided to keep all schools shut for the day.
