Assam: All party meeting held to discuss updation of National Register of Citizens

In Assam, an all party meeting to discuss issues related to updation of National Register of Citizens, NRC was held at Guwahati today.

Representatives from different political parties including Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal attended the important meeting.

Speaker of the state assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami was also present in the meeting. The details of the meeting are awaited.

Our correspondent reports that NRC is being updated in Assam under the supervision of the Supreme Court to detect illegal citizens staying in the state. Chief Minister Sonowal says his government is committed to help make an error free NRC.
