The Army on Monday carried out a retaliatory action against Pakistani troops, killing seven of their soldiers, including a Major, and injuring four others along the LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The security forces have also killed five terrorists after foiling an infiltration bid along the LoC in Uri sector of Baramulla district. The joint teams of police, army and Central Armed Police Forces were involved in the operation.

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has said the Army will never allow anti-India activities to succeed. He was addressing the Army Day parade function in New Delhi. General Rawat said the Army is giving a befitting reply to ceasefire violations and if forced, it will escalate the operations against terror groups.
