
Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said, Agro-meteorological advisories will reach 50 million farmers during 2018-19 from the present 24 million.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the advisories benefit the farmers in their day to day farming operations.
These advisories also help farmers to take preventive measures before calamities. He said, technology used in farming activities helps improve crop productivity and makes a huge impact on rural economy.
The Minister said, the research and development efforts of CSIR are aligned to the needs of the domestic industry and the social needs of the nation. He said, 15 new Biotechnology incubators and 15 to 20 new Technology Business Incubators will be established during 2018-19 to incubate start-ups.
Dr Harsh Vardhan said, innovation and start-up activities have received a big support during the last three years.
