
Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju today said Niti Ayog has suggested making Air India a strong and viable airline. He was briefing media on achievements of his ministry in the last three years.
Mr Raju said that fifty more airports will be operational from next year. He said cargo registered impressive growth of 10 percent in the last three years.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha said government is considering all alternatives to make Air India a sustainable airline and Finance Ministry and Civil Aviation Ministry are on the same page regarding this.
He said there has been a complete transformation in the aviation sector in the last three years. He informed India is the third largest domestic aviation market in the world.
