
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today held an all-party meeting in Bengaluru today to discuss the Cauvery river water sharing issue. The meeting unanimously decided to consult state Counsel Fali Nariman on constitution of expert committee on sharing of Cauvery water.
Water Resources Minister MB Patil told reporters after the meeting that the state government’s stance will be decided only after consulting the state legal Counsel.
He said, the state is under distresses now and not in a position to release water to Tamil Nadu.
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss on whether to accept formation of Cauvery water release Monitoring Committee by the Tribunal, release of water from river Cauvery to Tamilnadu as directed by the Supreme Court and other issues relating to the subject.
