Textiles and Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the Home Expo India 2018 at India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida today.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Irani expressed confidence that Indian products will be able to cater to the needs and demands of consumers from around the world.
She expressed the hope that exports of handicrafts will cross its 20 per cent target mark.
The Minister also visited the Academy of Convention , Trade Fair, Event Research and Management established by India Expo Centre and Mart. She said, the academy will give boost to the Skill India Programme.
The three-day event, organised by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, is a three segmented categories show. It brings Housewares, Textiles and Furniture under one roof, at the same time making it a One-Stop Expo for every visitor.
The Expo is one of leading business-to-business shows where a wide range of tableware, home textiles, kitchenware, houseware and bathroom accessories will be displayed.
During the event, international buyers, leading manufacturers and exporters will share the same platform and will exchange various ideas related to the industry.
More than 650 Indian exporters of all the three categories will be displaying exquisite products of Houseware, decorative, furnishing, flooring and textiles and furniture and furniture accessories.
