
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh has said, Yoga has an immense power to inspire people, particularly foreigners, who can learn about the ancient Indian practice and know the country’s cultural heritage.
Stating that many countries are moving towards Yoga practices, he expressed confidence that yoga will be quite instrumental in binding the world in times to come.
The Minister was speaking at a function in New Delhi after inaugurating a three-day International Yoga Festival today. The festival is organized by the Ayush Ministry as a curtain raiser for this year’s International Yoga Day, falling on 21st of June.
Minister of State for Ayush Shripad Naik, who also spoke on the occasion, reiterated the need for Yoga in the modern times.
He said, his Ministry is taking all necessary steps to develop and promote Yoga throughout the country.
