In Madhya Pradesh, at least 15 labourers were killed and more than 25 injured in a road accident in Jabalpur district on today morning. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that the mini truck carrying labourers overturned near Neechi village on Jabalpur-Chargawan road resulting in the death of at least 15 of them. supritandent of police M.S.Sikarvaar confirmed the death of labourers.
The driver reportedly jumped out of the truck and fled the spot. The injured have been rushed to Jabalpur for treatment. The death toll is likely to rise as many of the injured are in serious condition.
Expressing grief over the incident Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced an ex-gratia of Rupees one lac each for the relatives of the deceased and rupees Ten thousand each to the injured.
