Congress today questioned the timing of launch of bullet train project in Gujarat. Briefing media in New Delhi, senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen the launch time ahead of Gujarat elections.
He also alleged that announcement of packages and such projects have been a set pattern before every state election. Mr Kharge said it is distressing that the BJP government is focusing on this one big project at the cost of 1.1 Lakh crore rupees abdicating its responsibility towards safety to the crores of Rail Passengers who travel daily on trains.
The Congress leader said country has been witnessing horrific rail accidents in the past couple of years, the government has allocated a meager amount for rail safety.
