Flood situation is moving towards normalcy in states: DG NDRF Sanjay Kumar

Director General of National Disaster Response Force, NDRF Sanjay Kumar today said that the flood situation is moving towards normalcy in states.

Speaking to media in New Delhi today, Mr Kumar said, during this year’s floods Gujarat, Assam, Rajasthan, and West Bengal NDRF rescued more than 18 hundred people and evacuated nearly 9 thousand 700 persons and 40 live stocks. He said, the Force is ready for any situation.

Mr Kumar said, said, NDRF is organising community awareness programmes and school safety programmes all over country through its batallions for awareness on man made and natural disasters. He said, NDRF has been conducting mock exercises and capacity development programmes of State Disaster Response Force personnel, civilians and school children.

He informed that this year BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise DMEx will be held in Delhi-NCR from 10th to 13th October.
