Modi Guarantee Fulfilled in Chhattisgarh: CM Sai Launches Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborers Welfare Scheme

Raipur, January 20

Another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been fulfilled in Chhattisgarh with the launch of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborers Welfare Scheme. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that a significant population in Chhattisgarh depends on agriculture, yet many do not own land and rely on agricultural labor for their livelihood. Keeping them in mind, the government had promised financial assistance of ₹10,000 annually to landless agricultural laborers. Today, this promise has been fulfilled.

Speaking at the launch event at the New Circuit House Auditorium, Chief Minister Sai announced that 5,62,112 beneficiaries in the state would benefit from this scheme, with ₹562.11 crore allocated for landless agricultural laborers. He emphasized that the scheme aims to increase the net income of landless families and provide them financial stability. The scheme includes not only landless agricultural laborers but also forest produce collectors, shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, and washermen associated with the traditional Pauni-Pasari system. Additionally, in Scheduled Areas, priests, Baigas, Guniyas, and Manjhis who serve in tribal religious sites are also included. The Chief Minister personally distributed ₹10,000 cheques to the beneficiaries.

A Historic Step for Economic Empowerment
CM Sai described this initiative as a historic step toward economic prosperity for landless laborers. He highlighted that the scheme would not only strengthen their financial condition but also support their children’s education, healthcare, and future. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a better life for every poor and landless family in Chhattisgarh.

Fulfilling Modi’s Promises for Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister Sai stated that his government had already fulfilled most of PM Modi’s guarantees within just one year. He recalled that on the second day after taking the oath, his first cabinet decision approved housing for 18 lakh families under PM Awas Yojana. The eligibility criteria for the scheme have also been expanded—now, those owning two-wheelers, up to 2.5 acres of irrigated land, or up to 5 acres of non-irrigated land, and those earning up to ₹15,000 per month are also eligible. The government has also started a survey for the Awas Plus scheme to ensure housing benefits reach every eligible citizen.

Farmers’ Welfare and Agricultural Growth
Under Modi’s Guarantee, the government had promised to procure paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal up to 21 quintals per acre, and this promise has been fulfilled. Farmers are receiving direct payments at the time of procurement, with the remaining amount to be paid in February. CM Sai noted that with better prices for crops, even farmers who had left agriculture are returning to farming.

The tendu leaf collection rate has been increased from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per standard bag, benefiting 12.5 lakh tribal collectors. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, 70 lakh women are receiving ₹1,000 per month, with ₹7,182 crore disbursed across 11 installments. Additionally, under the Ram Lalla Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana, 20,000 devotees from Chhattisgarh have been sent to Ayodhya for pilgrimage. The CM assured that every promise made under Modi’s Guarantee is being systematically fulfilled.

Good Governance for All
CM Sai reiterated that his government is implementing welfare schemes for every section of society and ensuring that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries. He expressed his happiness at seeing the direct impact of these efforts on people’s lives.

Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma highlighted the rapid development in Chhattisgarh since the formation of the current government, attributing the success to Modi’s Guarantee and CM Sai’s good governance. He stated that CM Sai is realizing the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
