Meeting of Chhattisgarh Tribal Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board Held

The ninth meeting of the Managing Committee of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board was recently held in Raipur. The meeting was organized in the board’s auditorium under the chairmanship of the Board President, Mr. Vikas Markam. Present at the occasion were board members including Forest Force Chief Mr. V. Srinivas Rao, Director of the State Forest Research and Training Institute Mr. Tapesh Jha, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Federation Mr. Anil Kumar Sahu, State In-charge of FRLHT Bangalore Ms. Kanchan Banjare, along with officials from the Forest Department, AYUSH Department, Industry Department, and Agriculture Department.

During the meeting, a review of ongoing programs run by the board was conducted. Detailed discussions took place on plans related to medicinal plants, school herbal gardens, home herbal gardens, eco-tourism, training of traditional healers, awareness programs for villagers, and group training initiatives.

Chairman Mr. Markam stated that under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai and Forest & Climate Change Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, the board’s activities will be further accelerated. He directed all officials to implement the programs timely and comprehensively. The meeting also decided that the board will collaborate with minor forest produce federations to work on marketing raw medicinal products.
