Medical field offers a great career for youth and an opportunity to serve people: CM Sai

During my time as a Member of Parliament, my residence in North Avenue, Delhi, was a second home for patients and their families from Chhattisgarh and the region, said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

He further elaborated that Patients who came to Delhi for treatment would stay there and get their treatment done. People used to say to me that your house is a mini AIIMS. Serving patients was my greatest interest and it gave me the most satisfaction.

Chief Minister Sai said this while addressing the White Coat Ceremony organized by Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center.

Chief Minister Sai congratulated all the students studying MBBS on joining this service to patients. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary, MLAs Shri Indra Kumar Sahu and Shri Ravishankar Ji Maharaj, along with professors, doctors, and students of the medical college were present on the occasion. The Dean of the college, Dr. Kundan E. Gedam, administered the oath of medical ethics to the students admitted to the MBBS course.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that medical science, being a good career for the youth, also provides an opportunity to serve people. He said that life is the most precious treasure and you people provide a lifeline to people through good treatment, so people consider doctors like God.

He said that you all should do your work with full devotion, the blessings you will get from it will bring more happiness and prosperity in your life. Chief Minister Sai also informed about the release of Rs. 231 crore for the expansion of Ambedkar Hospital and the construction of a 700-bed hospital. He said that after the completion of the hospital building, the capacity of Ambedkar Hospital will be 2 thousand patients.

He informed that efforts are being made to increase PG seats along with MBBS in the state.

The Chief Minister also informed about the decision to start PG seats in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dermatology in Raigarh Medical College.

Chief Minister Sai said that along with our 10 government medical colleges, private medical colleges here are also playing a strong role in strengthening medical education in the state and preparing a new generation of talented doctors.
He said that in the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the expansion of medical education in Chhattisgarh has never been seen before, and its direct impact is visible in the health services of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid homage to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying that he gave the gift of AIIMS to Chhattisgarh, which has emerged as a major center of medical facilities not only for Chhattisgarh but also for the surrounding areas.
The Chief Minister said that just as my residence in Delhi used to be open for patients and their families during my tenure as an MP, similarly today, being the head of the state, this service work continues through Kunkuri Sadan.
Health Minister Shri Jaiswal, addressing the medical students, said that you will all become good doctors. Service is primary in this profession, employment comes later. If you all join this profession with a sense of service, the state will always benefit from it. He said that the establishment of private institutions in the health sector in the state will also provide great support in fulfilling the government’s objectives. Minister Shri Jaiswal also shared information about the state government’s efforts in the field of medical education, health infrastructure and health.
Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary said that today all of you students who are entering medical education will make your parents as well as the state proud. You will contribute to making India a developed nation. Our youth are making a name for themselves nationally and internationally. The Finance Minister said that we will establish Nava Raipur as a growth hub for the service sector. Our government is trying to establish Raipur as a healthcare destination so that people of the state can get high-quality healthcare services.

Chief Minister virtually inaugurated the boys’ and girls’ hostel building
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai virtually inaugurated the newly constructed hostel building for medical college students during the White Coat Ceremony of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. He congratulated all the medical students for the hostel building.
It is noteworthy that a new hostel building has been constructed for the students of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences, in which 120 seats are for girls and 100 seats are for boys.
