Naxalism in Bastar is fast approaching its end, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, asserting that the ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme is swiftly linking remote villages with essential government services. He noted that, like the rest of the state, Bastar is also poised to scale new milestones of development.
The Chief Minister added that the state government has delivered on most of its guarantees within just two years and continues to work with the goal of building a prosperous Chhattisgarh. He was addressing the Budhadev Mahotsav organized by the Gaada Samaj in Kondagaon on Monday.
Delivering a major developmental push for Kondagaon, on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai performed the Bhumi Pujan ceremony and inauguration of 61 development projects worth Rs 127 crore. He announced Rs 90 lakh for the construction of the Kongud-Dhanora road, Rs 39 crore for the Keshkal-Vishrampuri road, and Rs 2.71 crore for a 100-seater hostel for Scheduled Tribe girls in Kudhur village. He also announced Rs 1.5 crore for the operation of a multipurpose center, a disabled center, and a coaching center. At the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai also released a coffee table book (Journey of Dignity: Story of NRLM Kondagaon), an early childhood care booklet, a helpline number for high-risk pregnancies, a helmet bank, and a nutritional development chart.
Addressing the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the Silver Jubilee celebrations are being held across the state to mark the 25th anniversary of the state’s establishment. He emphasised that state has no shortage of natural resources and its soil is extremely fertile. Around 18 lakh houses have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for rural beneficiaries in Chhattisgarh, beneficiaries are continuously being benefited under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Tendu Leaf Collector Welfare Schemes, and Charan Paduka Yojana and now it’s the farmers’ season, as they stand to benefit from the paddy procurement at the minimum support price, which began on November 15.
Chief Minister stated that a good education is essential to becoming a good farmer, businessman, public servant, or politician. Therefore, everyone should pay special attention to the education of children.
MLA Ms Lata Usendi also addressed the program, highlighting the state government’s achievements and welfare schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai was warmly welcomed upon his arrival with a group playing the traditional instrument Mohri. Chief Minister Shri Sai also prayed for the prosperity of the people of the state by worshipping Budhadev.

Rita Shori, Shri Kamalchandra Bhanjdev, former MP Shri Mohan Mandavi, former MLA Shri Shishupal Shori and officials of Ganda Samaj Shri Pradeep Kuldeep, Dr. Kiran Baghel and Shri Ashok Chauhan along with a large number of dignitaries were present in the program.
