The Health and Family Welfare Department has taken major action and terminated the services of 27 medical officers and specialist doctors who have been absent without authorization for a long time. Along with this, orders for departmental inquiry have been issued against 21 medical officers.
It is known that the medical officers and specialist doctors were issued show cause notices for being absent from their duty stations without authorization for a long time. By remaining unauthorizedly absent for a period of more than three years, the medical officers and specialist doctors violated the basic rules of the government and the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Leave) Rules.
The absent officers and doctors were given full opportunity to present their case by issuing show cause notices. The case of the medical officers/specialist doctors present in the hearing was heard and after seriously considering the representations submitted by them, the services of the medical officers and specialist doctors have been terminated.
