In Madhya Pradesh, the state Electricity Regulatory Commission has announced an average hike of 9(point)48 per cent in the power tariff.
Rates of domestic power consumption have been increased by 7.8 per cent while rates for agriculture use have been hiked by 13.32 per cent.
The new rates will be applicable from 10th of this month. Opposition Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have opposed this hike.
