In Madhya Pradesh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today began his indefinite fast to restore peace in the state at Bhopal’s BHEL dushhera ground. He has said that his fast will continue till peace is restored in the state.
Addressing the people, he said that he is in great pain after violent incidents during the farmers agitation. He paid tributes to those who were killed in police firing. He gave agitating farmers an open invitation for discussion. Mr. Chouhan said that beneficial price will be ensured for farmers in the state through krishi lagat and vipanan Ayog:
Mr. Chouhan said that bumper production has resulted in fall in crop prices. He said that onion, tuar, arhar and summer moong will be procured at support price. Meanwhile, State Agriculture Minister Gauri Shankar Bisen has said that the state government is already providing interest free loans to farmers. Talking to media in Bhopal, he said, he is not in favour of complete loan waiver. He added that the farming sector has been growing well in the State.
