In Madhya Pradesh, district collector and Superintendent of Police of Bhind district have been removed after directions of the Election Commission. As per reports, by-poll will be held in Ater assembly segment of Bhind district on 9th of this month.
V Kiran Gopal has been posted as Bhind collector in place of T Ilaya Raja. Sushant Saxena is the new SP, taking place of Anil Kushwaha.
The election commission has also asked for removal of some other senior officials. The action has been taken after a controversy related to a Electronic Voting Machine.
It is alleged that this EVM registered vote in favour of a particular party irrespective of whichever party they were cast for during an inspection. Opposition parties had made it a big issue. A team of the election commission arrived in Bhind yeatetday to probe the matter. The election commission is also sending a delegation to supervise the by-poll.
