Launch of the “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 29 May

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the Good Governance Camp held in Bhainsa village, Raipur district. On this occasion, he flagged off the awareness vehicle for the “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan,” a national campaign being organized under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from 29 May to 12 June. He also handed over the keys of 110 pucca (permanent) houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Sai described the campaign as a significant step toward taking scientific research and support directly to farmers’ fields. Under this initiative, central government scientists will work in teams with state scientists and will engage with over 1.3 million farmers across the state. Agricultural scientists and researchers will leave their labs and interact directly with farmers, promoting advanced and sustainable farming practices and gathering feedback from them.

Commitment to Housing for All
Addressing the camp, CM Sai stated that PM Modi’s mission is to ensure every poor citizen has a permanent home. In line with this vision, the state government has already approved over 1.8 million homes under PMAY, most of which are completed, and the rest are under construction. Eligible citizens not yet covered under the “Awas Plus Plus” scheme will also be included.

He added that over 7 million women are receiving ₹1,000 per month under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and those not yet enrolled will soon be included.

Feedback from Beneficiaries
CM Sai took feedback from beneficiaries present at the camp. Mr. Chamar Singh Patel suggested shifting from paddy cultivation to horticulture and low-water crops due to falling water tables and also encouraged organic farming. Ms. Chandan thanked the Chief Minister for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, saying she uses the funds for her children’s education and other family needs.
