Kurud Assembly of Dhamtari Receives a Massive Development Gift

Raipur, 22 September
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development works worth ₹245.80 crore in village Kareli Badi, located in the Magarlod block of Dhamtari district. As part of the state-level Mahatari Sadan inauguration program held in Kurud Assembly, the CM inaugurated 51 Mahatari Sadans, giving the district a major development boost. A total of 77 projects were inaugurated or initiated in Kurud Assembly. These projects span multiple sectors including women empowerment, education, health, agriculture, irrigation, roads, drinking water, industry, science, tourism, and social development, aimed at bringing a new direction to the region.
Women Empowerment – Inauguration of New Buildings
Under the Mahatari Sadan Yojana, the CM inaugurated 51 Mahatari Sadan buildings constructed at a total cost of approximately ₹2.10 crore. These buildings are envisioned as centers of dignity and self-reliance for women. The Mahatari Sadans will give a new identity to the power and capabilities of the women of Chhattisgarh.
Industrial Development
Infrastructure worth ₹16.61 crore will be developed in Kareli Badi and Bhalujhulan for industrial areas, for which the CM performed the foundation-laying ceremony. Additionally, the CM inaugurated various infrastructure works worth ₹6 crore at the G. Jamgaon industrial area, opening up new opportunities for industry and employment.
Education & Skill Development
To boost education and skill development, the CM laid the foundation stones for an ITI building, a government polytechnic college, and a Livelihood College building at a total cost of ₹27.67 crore. He also inaugurated the Agriculture College building and hostel built at a cost of ₹7.53 crore. These institutions will become major centers for higher education and skill development for youth.
Roads & Infrastructure
The CM laid the foundation for 9 road construction and improvement projects in Dhamtari district, with a total expenditure of ₹119.79 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated the Gaurav Path roads built in Gatapar and Bakli at a cost of ₹1.70 crore. These roads will significantly improve connectivity between villages.
Healthcare Facilities
The CM inaugurated the Primary Health Center building in Bhendri (Magarlod block), to be built at a cost of ₹75 lakh. This will improve access to healthcare in rural areas.
Drinking Water & Irrigation
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the CM inaugurated 39 drinking water projects worth approximately ₹30 crore, ensuring that every village in the district will be certified under the “Har Ghar Jal” initiative. He also inaugurated a micro-irrigation project in Kodebod, constructed at a cost of ₹26.37 crore, and laid the foundation for a cross regulator on the Mahanadi canal, to be built at ₹4.29 crore. These efforts will provide better irrigation to farmers and clean drinking water to rural communities.
Science & Tourism
The CM laid the foundation for a Science Park in Gangrel, which is expected to foster scientific temper among children and youth while also boosting tourism in the region.
Social Development
As part of today’s event, the CM also laid the foundation stone for a Kanwar Samaj Bhavan (Madhuban Dham, Rakandih) to be built at a cost of ₹50 lakh. This building will contribute to community development in the district.
These extensive development initiatives will not only strengthen infrastructure in the Kurud region of Dhamtari district, but also generate new opportunities in the areas of social, educational, industrial, and agricultural development. Under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, this historic day will serve as a milestone in the progress and welfare of the district.
