‘Khelo India Tribal Games’ Buzz in Chhattisgarh as Athletes Receive a Warm Welcome

The arrival of athletes for the Khelo India Tribal Games has commenced in Chhattisgarh, sparking a festive atmosphere across the state. On Monday evening, a contingent of 10 swimmers from Assam and 17 football players from Tamil Nadu reached Raipur.
The ambiance at Swami Vivekananda Airport was filled with excitement as traditional, colorful performances greeted the athletes. Officials from the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) extended a heartfelt welcome by presenting roses to the guests. Throughout March 23, a large number of athletes from various states and Union Territories will continue to arrive for the event. This marks the first time a tribal sporting event of this magnitude is being hosted in Chhattisgarh.
This grand competition is being held across Raipur, Ambikapur, and Jagdalpur, with approximately 3,000 tribal athletes from across the nation set to participate. Scheduled from March 25 to April 3, the event will feature thrilling matches in both men’s and women’s categories across seven sporting disciplines: Hockey, Football, Wrestling, Athletics, Swimming, Archery, and Weightlifting.
