US Ambassador to India, Kenneth I Juster has said that America wants to assist India’s efforts to build up its indigenous defence capabilities. Addressing the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Kolkata, Mr Juster said, the United States is keen to enhance the inter-operability of forces with India as major defence partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

The ambassador said the export of cross-border terrorism by Pakistan is a concern for the US as well, adding that America has zero tolerance towards cross-border terrorism. Stressing the importance of the economic relationship between India and the US, Mr Juster said, there is ample scope for increasing the bilateral trade.
