
As many as two workers were killed and 20 others trapped when a rock burst ripped through a coal mine in the eastern Shandong Province.
A Chinese news agency said that the burst happened last night and destroyed part of a water drainage tunnel in the coal mine in Yuncheng County. It said at the time of the accident, 334 people were working underground, of which 312 were later lifted to safety.
The two bodies were retrieved today and search for the remaining 20 trapped workers is underway, said the news agency.
