
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be accorded ceremonial welcome at the La Moncloa palace in Madrid. Thereafter Mr.Modi will be meeting President of Spain Mariano Rajoy.
The two leaders will discuss entire gamut of bilateral relations and global issues including ways to enhance economic cooperation and counter terrorism.
Later, Mr.Rajoy will be hosting working breakfast for the Prime Minister. Both the countries will sign agreements.
Mr Modi will also call on King of Spain King Felipe VI. He tweeted after his arrival that his visit to Spain is aimed at improving economic and cultural relations between the two sides. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will try to attract the Spanish industry to India to participate in the Make in India initiative of his government.
There are already over two hundred Spanish companies working in India. The Prime Minister will be holding round table interaction with the top Spanish Chief Executive Officers to attract more investments to India as well as improving existing trade relations. Spain is the 12th largest investor in India with 1.8 billion Foreign Direct Investment.
