In France, a camp housing 1,500 migrants in northern part of the country has been destroyed in fire. At least 10 people were injured when the fire tore through closely-packed huts at the Grande-Synthe camp, near the port of Dunkirk.
Michel Lalande, prefect of France’s Nord region, said the fierce blaze destroyed most of the 300 huts in the camp. The migrants were evacuated and would be rehoused in emergency accommodation, the prefect said. Lalande said the blaze had been started after a fight between Afghans and Kurds at the camp.
